Exhibiting at London Cake International

Hey all, I just wanted to stop by and share with you my experience at London Cake International this year.

This was my first time exhibiting in the London show at Excel. It was a bitesize show and did feel a lot smaller than their other shows. I have to say, I personally preferred it! Quality over quantity is always a plus. Everyone seemed to have more time to chat and the vibe was upbeat and much friendlier. Which, let’s be honest, is a rare thing for the usual hustle and bustle London vibe.

“Big shout out and thank you to my lovely student, now a great friend! Sue Robinson, for all of your support and help!”

My Favourite Find

I am not usually a big fan of moulds, but Karen Davies designs are in a different league, the quality is excellent. It always amazes me to see how she creates her cakes, you would never know she uses moulds. Her NEW design ‘Brush Embroidery Mould’ has to be my favourite!
Birthday Girl Topper Cake

I had to have it!  I would recommend it! It wasn’t like the other sugarcraft buys, where you leave at the bottom of a box never to be seen again.

I used it within a week of purchasing. It’s so simple, quick and effective. Perfect if you have limited time and want to create texture to your cake.

I used the brush embroidery as a border around her name. Wanting the focus to be on the cake topper, I opted to keep it the same colour as the cake.

Discovered Artist

So, this tall man, strikingly good looking, dressed in black and covered in tattoos passed my stand. This guy couldn’t be further from my type but the confidence in his walk was so eye-catching. As I do with no filter, I said out loud “Oooooh who is that!” Everyone at my stand looked at me as if I was stupid. Embarrassingly I asked “who??”.

Do you know who it is? No cheating and scrolling down haha!

The Bake King
Apparently, I am the only one that doesn’t know about Ben Cullin “The BakeKing” from extreme cakes. I quickly googled him, and OMG! forget the man’s looks, his art is fantastic! What a talented man. So, if anyone doesn’t know about him, check out his work here. You won’t be disappointed. I loved this cake. Click here to see how he creates it!

Would you like to join a Sugarcraft Club?
Are you local to me, or within a thirty-minute drive, to Waltham Abbey, Essex?!
I am looking to start up a private sugarcraft club. This would run on a certain day, once a month in the evening from 7.30pm – 9.30pm.
You’d come along, watch a demonstration (every week would be a different subject) meet other cake decorators and chat over a cup of tea and cake.

I need a certain number of members to start it up, if you are interested please contact me here, or hit the button below to be added to the list.

If you got this far, thank you so much for your time. I really hoped you enjoyed the read.
